In order to send or receive funds, every TrustUS user needs to link at least one bank account with their TrustUS account.
Attorney Users Attorney users can link two accounts with their TrustUS account, one for their Trust Account, and one for their Business Account.
The Trust Account is the bank account that all of the user's cases will use. For example, a disbursement transaction to a case's Surrogate user will transfer money from the attorney's Trust Account to the Surrogate's personal bank account. It's also worth mentioning that although all the cases under the same attorney user will use the same bank account (the attorney's Trust Account) for the case's Trust Account, each case's Trust Account is independent of one another. This means that each case has its own Trust Account balance, and a transaction that takes place in one case will not affect any other cases under the same attorney user.
The Business account will be used for any fees that may occur with your account, such as case processing fees.
To learn more details about what is included in each subscription plan, see Subscription Plans.
Dwolla Balance The Dwolla Balance is the balance on your Dwolla Account. Under rare circumstances, if a transaction has been made, but was later rejected, funds could remain in your Dwolla balance instead of going back to your funding source. To transfer your Dwolla balance back into your bank account, please submit a ticket or contact support.
Non-attorney Users Agency, Independent Intended Parent, Intended Parent, Surrogate, and Egg Donor users are able to link one bank account with their TrustUS account. This account will be used for any fees that may occur with your account, such as case processing fees.
If the user is using the Free Plan, the user will need to provide the account number and routing number for their personal bank account to allow other users, such as attorneys or agency users, to make disbursements to them.
