Make a Payment by Check

TrustUS allows you to make and request payment by check. Before you start making payments by check, you must satisfy several prerequisites:

  • Have an active bank account linked to your TrustUS account, either through plaid or through account number and routing number. Follow these guides to link a bank account to your TrustUS account.
  • Have filled out your personal information on your "Profile" page. This includes your name and address information, which will be used to create the check.
  • (For attorney users) Have specified your "Check Signature" settings. This is done by going to the "Admin" page, and selecting "Check Signature". Then, select and save your signature settings.

 

Create or Edit a Transaction to Use Check as Payment Method

 

 

 

In order to make or request payment by check, create a new transaction through the "Requests" page or edit an existing transaction, and then select the "Pay by Check" checkbox.

Next, fill out the fields that appeared as you check the "Pay by Check" checkbox:

  • Memo: Required if you're an attorney user. This text will appear on the check's "Memo" area.
  • Check Number: Required if you're an attorney user. This is ...
  • Address Information: The mailing address for the check. This field is automatically filled with the selected recipient's address.

 

Finish other changes you want to make with the transaction, then press "Confirm", or "Save" if you're editing an existing transaction.

 

After the transaction has been successfully scheduled (which is usually a few days before the specified transaction date, you will be able to see the status as well as a preview image of the check on the transaction's detail page within the "Check Information" section.

Approve a Pay-by-Check Transaction

 

 

To approve a transaction that is set to "Pay by Check", go to the transaction's detail page and press "Approve"

 

You can also make changes to the transaction before approving it. To do so, press the "Edit" button and apply your desired changes, then press "Save and Approve"
